Novedot līdz absurdam Judina kunga priekšlikumu, teikšu tā: nu, tad uzņemsim Latvijā, teiksim, 20 miljonus imigrantu, pamācīsim latviešu valodu, diagnosticēsim viņu piederību latviešu kultūrai, un - latvietis gatavs! Un nebūs vairs jārisina demogrāfijas problēmas. Un kā gan šo piederību varētu diagnosticēt? Ar mērītāju uz rokas, vai viņam skrien skudriņas pār kauliem, dziedot “Saule, Pērkons, Daugava”? Absurds! Jūs runājat par piederību latviešu kultūrai, bet latviešu tautas mentalitāte ir veidojusies tā, ka latvieši ar neslēptu nicinājumu skatās uz cilvēkiem, kuri novēršas no savas tēvutēvu tautības. Turpretim ar lielu cieņu mēdz attiekties pret cittautiešiem, kas iemācījušies latviešu valodu un darījuši ko labu Latvijai. Savukārt tos latviešus, kas individuālā komforta līmeņa celšanas nolūkā centās asimilēties vāciešos, latvieši nicīgi sauca par kārkluvāciešiem, un tagad mums tiek piedāvāts, ja tā var teikt, tāds kārkluvāciešu likums. Likumprojekta autori sola, ka cilvēki, kas jūtas piederīgi latviešu kultūrvidei, vairs nebūšot no tās izstumti savas etniskās piederības dēļ. Ko tas nozīmē? Vai ir zināms kaut viens gadījums, ka kāds cittautietis brīvajā Latvijā ir juties no latviešu kultūrvides izstumts vairāk, nekā pats to ir vēlējies? Mūsu kultūrvide tradicionāli ir daudznacionāla. Satversmes sapulcē ir bijušas pārstāvētas visas nozīmīgākās etniskās minoritātes. Vai Inese Galante, Gidons Krēmers, Gļebs Panteļejevs un vēl bezgala daudzi, nebūdami latvieši, jūtas izstumti no Latvijas kultūrvides? Īstenā latviešu kultūrvidē tautība pieder pie tām liktenīgajām un svētajām kategorijām, kas paliek nemainīgas visu cilvēka mūžu un nepakļaujas izvēlei. Tad par novecojušu tiek pasludināts pats pamats, uz kā balstās 18.novembra Latvijas kā nacionālas valsts pastāvēšana un teritoriālā nedalāmība. Gandrīz pirms 100 gadiem latvieši ir konstruējuši savu nacionālo valsti kā savas pastāvēšanas politiski sociālo formu savā tēvzemē. Tagad viss tiek apgriezts kājām gaisā. Iznāk, ka nevis tauta konstruē savu valsti, bet gan valsts būs tā, kas konstruē administratīvā kārtā latviešu tautu. Etniskā latvietība gadu simtiem ir bijusi latviešu svētums, ko var vienīgi mantot, nevis izvēlēties.
