Par to, kas notika komisijā, es varu pateikt tā. Komisija ar šo jautājumu strādā ilgi, un ir bijusi ļoti nopietna diskusija, bija dažādi eksperti, bija tiesībsargs, bija Juridiskais birojs, un faktiski, no juridiskās puses, no Satversmes puses, šis priekšlikums nav pareizs - neatbilst Satversmei. Es tagad nelasīšu jums medicīniska rakstura lekciju par nedzemdējušu un dzemdējušu sieviešu olšūnu ziedošanu, jo, visticamāk, ja kāds no jums neiedziļināsies šajā jautājumā, viņš nesapratīs pareizi. Taču paskaidrošu, ka komisijā bija bažas par trim lietām, kuru dēļ šo priekšlikumu komisija atbalstīja. Viens jautājums bija par to, ka pirms olšūnas ziedošanas ir hormonāla stimulācija: sievietei vajag dzert hormonu, lai tas palīdzētu, un vajag arī špricēt. Bija dažādi mediķu viedokļi. Daļa mediķu uzskatīja, ka tas varētu palielināt nedzemdējušai sievietei risku saslimt ar vēzi. Ir izpētīts šis jautājums, ir bijušas vairākas publikācijas Oksfordas žurnālā Human Oxford Journal... Bijušas 109 publikācijas un vairāki pētījumi par šo jautājumu, un neviena no tām publikācijām faktiski nekādi nepierāda, ka tieši šī stimulācija varētu ietekmēt un palielināt sievietēm risku saslimt ar vēzi. Otrs jautājums - bažas par tirdzniecības jautājumu, ka sieviete... jauna, astoņpadsmitgadīga meitene, nesaprotot situāciju, varētu naudas dēļ būt gatava ziedot olšūnas. Nu, bet, kolēģi, mums ir likums, kur ir rakstīts, jau 2002.gadā, ka tomēr Latvijā jābūt reģistram par šo jautājumu. Un reģistrā var organizēt un kontrolēt arī jautājumu par šīm bažām... Jo faktiski jebkurā medicīniskā manipulācijā... Katram no mums, ja ejam uz slimnīcu un gribam, lai mums tur veiktu kādu izmeklējumu vai nopietnu invazīvu manipulāciju, noteikti ir jāparaksta attiecīgi dokumenti; tādi vienmēr tiek parakstīti. Viens ir par to, ka esam iepazīstināti ar šīs procedūras, izmeklējuma vai manipulācijas riska faktoriem un mēs paši esam izlēmuši, ka mēs tiešām gribam, lai mums veic šo manipulāciju, un ar savu parakstu esam apliecinājuši savu piekrišanu, zinādami par riskiem, par komplikācijām un tā tālāk. Mīļie kolēģi, vai mēs šeit uzskatām, ka sievietes Latvijā nav atbildīgas par savu veselību un par savu ķermeni? Vai mēs gribam arī nākotnē, lai likumi, ko mēs pieņemam, tikai aizliedz un aizliedz? Sabiedrība saprot, ko dara. Cilvēkam ir galva, ir prāts. Mēs netaisām likumu šeit, lai vienkārši spiestu un aizliegtu, un viss. Tā būtu vieglāk vienmēr.
