S.Dolgopolovs: “Uz ko tad?”) Aizsardzības ministrija ir iesniegusi apstiprināšanai Saeimas lēmuma projektu, kas paredz Nacionālo bruņoto spēku karavīru dalības turpināšanu pirmajā Apvienoto Nāciju organizētajā misijā Mali (MINUSMA). Kā jau minēja arī Ruka kungs, Saeima 2016.gada 14.janvārī lēmumu autorizēja, un mēs varējām iesaistīties ANO stabilizācijas misijā Mali (MINUSMA) uz laiku līdz 2016.gada 30.jūnijam atbilstoši spēkā esošajam misijas mandātam... ANO Drošības padomes rezolūcijas mandātam. Jauna rezolūcija par misijas mandāta pagarinājumu tradicionāli tiek pieņemta Drošības padomē īsi pirms spēkā esošās rezolūcijas darbības termiņa beigām. MINUSMA primārais mērķis ir stabilizēt situāciju un nodrošināt drošību Mali teritorijā, vienlaikus fokusējoties uz civilo iedzīvotāju aizsardzību un atbalstu Mali valsts drošības struktūru veidošanai, kā arī uzraudzīt un atbalstīt miera līguma īstenošanu. Latvija nepiedalīsies kaujas operācijās. Šobrīd NBS piedalās MINUSMA ar vienu štāba virsnieku - informācijas analītiķi informācijas apstrādes štāba vienības sastāvā. Šo iesaisti paredzēts turpināt. ANO misijai MINUSMA ir prioritāra nozīme Mali un visa Sāhelas reģiona stabilizēšanā. Mūsu NBS dalība MINUSMA operācijā ir saistīta ar partnervalstu plāniem Mali, kuri, starp citu, ir balstīti uz pieņēmumu par Latvijas sniegtā atbalsta turpināšanu pēc 2016.gada 30.jūnija. Mēs misijā piedalāmies ar kritiski svarīgu izlūkošanas spēju, kas nodrošina misijas efektivitāti. NBS dalību MINUSMA Aizsardzības ministrija paredz īstenot iepriekš plānotā budžeta ietvaros.
