Viņi bija piepildījuši sapni, kas ārēji likās gandrīz jau izdzisis, bet gailēja mūsu sirdīs 50 gadus. Mēs vēl nezinājām, ka mūs sagaida janvāra barikādes, augusta pučs, mēs nenojautām, cik smaga būs cīņa par okupācijas karaspēka izvešanu. Mēs pilnībā neapzinājāmies, cik daudz laika būs jāvelta, lai no jauna uzbūvētu savu tiesību sistēmu, ekonomiku, drošību, demokrātiju. Vai tagad, pēc 26 gadiem, mēs esam izauguši par izcilu un veiksmīgu valsti? Politiski tā ir noticis. Mēs esam Eiropas Savienībā, 28 valstu apvienībā, kas ir pasaules lielākā ekonomika. Mēs esam Ziemeļatlantijas līguma organizācijā NATO, kur dalībvalstu karavīru kopējais skaits pārsniedz trīs miljonus. Mēs esam guvuši izcilus panākumus kultūrā, sportā, farmācijā, informācijas tehnoloģijās. Mēs varam nosaukt daudzas jomas, kurās Latvija kā valsts ar diviem miljoniem iedzīvotāju ir pierādījusi savu izcilību. Atjaunotajā Latvijas Republikā ir izaugušas jaunas paaudzes. Lūk, ko saka jauni cilvēki! Kādēļ vislabāk bērnus audzināt Latvijā? Tādēļ, ka Latvijā ir brīnišķīga daba, ir četri skaisti gadalaiki, kvalitatīva pārtika un nākotnes iespējas. Nesen ir izveidots Demogrāfisko lietu centrs, kas galveno uzmanību veltīs daudzbērnu ģimenēm. Valsts nākotnei izšķiroša ir tieši trešā bērna politika. Godātie klātesošie! Mēs mīlam savu valsti un lepojamies ar savu Latviju. Mums viņa ir visskaistākā un vislabākā. Tad kādēļ daļā sabiedrības ir jūtama vilšanās? Jā, ne visi šajos 26 gados ir sasnieguši to labklājību, uz kādu cerēja un kādu politiskās partijas saviem vēlētājiem sola pirms vēlēšanām. Un labklājība ir nepieciešama, lai ikviens no mums varētu dzīvot pilnvērtīgi, ar pašcieņu un drošību par tagadni un nākotni. Lai varētu piepildīt savus sapņus. Māra Kučinska vadītās valdības pirmajā sēdē pirms nepilniem trim mēnešiem es teicu – cilvēki cer, ka būs labas pārmaiņas, ka uzplauks tautsaimniecība, ka visi dzīvos labāk. Cilvēki cer, ka šīs valdības laikā Latvija kļūs varenāka un stiprāka. Un uzticības kredīts šai valdībai ir dots. Valdība ir apņēmusies strādāt tā, lai būtu vairāk naudas ģimenēm, veselībai, izglītībai, drošībai, nacionālās identitātes stiprināšanai. Taču vēlos uzsvērt – labklājības solījums pa īstam būs izpildīts tad, kad Latvijā izveidosim plašu un spēcīgu vidusslāni. Tieši vidusslānis ir ikvienas stipras valsts kodols. Apzināti attīstot plašu vidusslāni, mēs stiprināsim arī lojalitāti valstij un savu drošību. Vidusslānis ar cieņu izturas pret pagātni, un tam ir svarīga nākotne. Vidusslānis rada pieprasījumu pēc kvalitatīvas izglītības saviem bērniem un rūpējas par savu vecāku dzīves kvalitāti. Vidusslānis respektē likumus, tam nav nepieciešama uzpūsta valsts pārvalde, un tas ievērojami retāk iesaistās korupcijā vai ēnu ekonomikā. Kādam jābūt mūsu vidusslānim? Tas jāveido skolotājiem, ārstiem, ierēdņiem, lauksaimniekiem, mazajiem un vidējiem uzņēmējiem. Cilvēkiem ar iniciatīvu, vērtībām un paaudžu pārmantojamības sajūtu. Kā stiprināt un kā paplašināt vidusslāni? Kad atradīsim praktisku atbildi uz šo jautājumu, tad valdību rīcības plāniem pietiks ar pāris lapiņām. Tad kādēļ Latvijā vidusslānis veidojas tik lēni, kas mūs velk atpakaļ? Kādēļ ir liela nevienlīdzība? Iedzīvotāju sajūtas par to, kas notiek valstī, tai skaitā par korupciju, birokrātiju, politikas kvalitāti, bet reizēm vienkārši par cilvēcisko attieksmi, ir ārkārtīgi būtiskas. Tās ir sajūtas, kas ietekmē patriotismu, drošības spēju, ekonomiku, mūsu savstarpējo uzticēšanos un ticību Latvijas valstij. Tāpēc aicinu īpaši domāt par mazajiem un vidējiem uzņēmējiem! Nesen sociālajos tīklos lielu rezonansi izraisīja kādas uzņēmējas stāsts par to, cik viegli ir vadīt nelielu restorāniņu Igaunijā un cik apgrūtinoši – Latvijā. Tas būtu draudzīgs žests, ja finanšu un ekonomikas ministri kopīgi uzrakstītu atklātu vēstuli uzņēmējai un visai sabiedrībai, izskaidrojot, ko darīsim savu uzņēmēju labā un kur nepieciešama viņu pretimnākšana. Pozitīva ziņa, ka Latvijai ir lielas izredzes jau šogad kļūt par OECD dalībvalsti. Esam strādājuši un turpinām strādāt, lai efektīvāk apkarotu korupciju, lai veidotu labvēlīgāku vidi uzņēmējiem un investoriem. Bet darāmā šeit vēl daudz! Bet, ja šo ceļakarti nebūtu aicinājusi ievērot OECD, tad mums nāktos to izdomāt pašiem. Mīļie tautieši! Kas ir mūslaiku varoņi? Šodienas Latvijā ir simtiem un tūkstošiem cilvēku, kuri spēj izdarīt ko tādu, kas pārsniedz viņu personīgās intereses, kuru darbs ik dienu nes labumu līdzcilvēkiem un Latvijai. Tādi cilvēki ir visur Latvijā. Tie ir skolotāji, kas ik gadu saņem Ekselences balvu par to, ka strādā radoši, ka labus mācību rezultātus palīdz sasniegt ikvienam skolēnam klasē. Tie ir ārsti, kas saņem Gada balvas medicīnā un kuru nopelnus nosaka tikai un vienīgi tautas balsojums. Tie ir Organiskās sintēzes institūta zinātnieki, kas, neraugoties uz skopo atbalstu zinātnei, turpina attīstīt uzņēmumus ar augstu pievienoto vērtību. Kaut kas pavisam īpašs ir cilvēku gatavība ziedot – sava veida kustība, ko pēdējos gados, pilnībā pašorganizējoties, izveidojusi sabiedrība. Tas ir fenomens, ko var salīdzināt ar Baltijas ceļu, kad sadevāmies rokās brīvības vārdā. Tagad cilvēki sadodas rokās, ja kādu piemeklē smaga slimība un ārstēšanai nepieciešams finansiāls atbalsts. Dažu dienu laikā šis finansējums tiek saziedots. Viens no tā īpašniekiem ir latviešu uzņēmējs Arnis Riekstiņš, kurš veica šo lielisko darbu klusi, bez publicitātes. Un tieši apbrīnojamās sabiedrības solidaritātes dēļ jo skaudrāks ir atzinums, ka veselības aprūpes jomā konkrētas reformas mēs vēl gaidām. Dāmas un kungi! Mūsu atbilde ir mīlestība pret Latviju, ticība savas valsts nākotnei, godīgs darbs un pastāvīgas rūpes par drošību. Drošības jomā kopš neatkarības atgūšanas esam piedzīvojuši būtiskas izmaiņas. Latvijas un Baltijas drošība ir NATO dienaskārtībā. Amerikas Savienotās Valstis ir mūsu stratēģiskais partneris. Eiropas Savienībā esam kopējās drošības un aizsardzības politikas sastāvdaļa. Tādu sabiedroto mums nebija ne 1918.gadā, kad Latviju dibināja, ne 1940.gadā, kad Latviju okupēja, ne 1945.gadā, kad ar Jaltas līgumu Latviju atstāja padomju okupācijas žņaugos. To mēs šobrīd varam uzskatīt par kardinālu situācijas maiņu, un mēs šo Rietumvalstu atbalstu augstu vērtējam. Arī pati Latvija pilnībā apzinās drošības izaicinājumus. Savā nesenajā vizītē ASV un Kanādā es varēju ar pārliecību apliecināt, ka pildām savus mājasdarbus – līdz 2018.gadam palielinām valsts aizsardzības budžetu līdz diviem procentiem no iekšzemes kopprodukta. Tam ir ne vien Saeimas un valdības, bet arī plašs sabiedrības atbalsts. Tagad Latvija tāpat kā citas Baltijas reģiona valstis gaida, ka vasarā Varšavas samitā tiks pieņemts lēmums par ilgtermiņa un pastiprinātu NATO spēku klātbūtni alianses austrumu flangā. Paši arī vairāk rūpējamies par iekšējo drošību. Ir uzsākta Latgales mediju atbalsta programma, uzcelti pirmie austrumu robežas posmi. Ir pieņemti būtiski grozījumi Krimināllikumā. Palaikam tas nenākas viegli, jo dažkārt esam pārāk labticīgi, nesteidzīgi vai arī aizdomīgi. Taču viens no jaunākajiem drošības izaicinājumiem, kas šķietami neizriet no mums pašiem, ir milzīgais migrācijas vilnis un bēgļiem pārpludinātā Eiropa. Diez vai Eiropa atceras, kad būtu piedzīvojusi tik milzīgu cilvēku pieplūdumu, turklāt no tik atšķirīgas kultūras telpas. Gatavas rīcības politikas šādai situācijai nebija. Mēs esam solidāri ar tām Eiropas Savienības valstīm, kurām sava ģeogrāfiskā stāvokļa dēļ nākas uzņemt vislielāko bēgļu skaitu, un mēs pildīsim iepriekš doto solījumu uzņemt patvēruma meklētājus. Taču mēs gaidām, ka arī Eiropa sapratīs – Baltijas valstis sava ģeogrāfiskā stāvokļa dēļ ir Eiropas Savienības ārējā robeža. Tās stiprināšanā vēl jāiegulda daudz darba un finansējuma. Mīļie tautieši! Robežas ir svarīgas! Reizēm gluži vienkārši ir jāzina robeža, kur beidzas tautas intereses un kur sākas personīgais labums. Jāzina, kas kavē tautas labklājību, kas tautai dara sāpes. Vienkārši jāspēj izaugt mazliet pāri savas dzīves robežām. Jābūt gatavam izdarīt darbu, kas var pāraugt laiku. Jāspēj būt mazliet varonim. Latvijas dēļ. Jo tik ilgi, kamēr mūsu sirdī būs Latvija, tik ilgi tā pastāvēs. Klāsim baltu galdautu cits citam! Klāsim baltu galdautu Latvijai! Svinēsim Latviju un vēlēsim savai valstij saules mūžu!
