Mēs redzējām, ka janvārī budžets nepildījās tik labi, kā gribētos (īpaši jāuzsver, ka pievienotās vērtības nodokļa ieņēmumi nesasniedza prognozēto), bet februāris ir šos datus izlīdzinājis, un nupat ir par vienu procentu lielāki ieņēmumi, nekā bija plānots. Plānojam, ka arī kopumā gada griezumā nebūs būtisku atkāpju no prognozēm. Savukārt par nākamā gada budžeta plānošanu jāteic, ka mēs jau laikus esam sākuši darbu pie tā veidošanas. Un ir tāds jauns uzdevums (mēs nupat arī ar veselības ministru apspriedām, kā to efektīvāk darīt) – ir izveidotas darba grupas, kuras kopā ar nozaru ministrijām pārskata ministriju bāzes izdevumus, lai redzētu, vai nozarēs ir kāda finansējuma rezerve. Jo, kā mēs skaidri zinām, katru gadu mēs atgriežamies pie tā paša, ka vajadzību vai vēlmju saraksts ir stipri lielāks nekā budžeta iespējas. Un, pirms piešķirt kādai jomai papildu finansējumu, ir jāpārliecinās, vai esošie līdzekļi tiek izmantoti pietiekami efektīvi.".
