Es šodien nebūtu runājusi par šo jautājumu, ja vakar man nebūtu bijusi iespēja tikties ar 20 arhitektu grupas pārstāvi Zaigu Gailes kundzi un detalizēti izrunāt šo jautājumu tieši no arhitektoniskā, no arhitektu profesionāļu viedokļa. (Dep. I.Rībenas starpsaucieni.) Mana attieksme ir tāda, ka šis jautājums ir pārlieku politizēts un pārlieku ideoloģizēts. Izrunājot šo jautājumu ar Zaigu Gailes kundzi, es sapratu vienu tādu detaļu, ka zem šīs lakoniskās esošās ēkas, kas ir jau mūsu acīm pierastajā Rīgas panorāmā, atrodas daudz plašāki pagrabi, nekā aizņem pats virsstāvs. Šie plašie pagrabi, kas iziet ārpus ēkas virsējās daļas robežām, netiek pienācīgi izmantoti. Arhitekti ir parēķinājuši visas tās platības, kas tur ir apakšā, un piedāvā to, ko paredzēts izvietot šajā piebūvē, gandrīz viens pret vienu izvietot rekonstruētajā pagrabā, nodrošinot tur arī gaismu no augšas, ņemot vērā to, ka šī pagraba daļa ir paplašināta un izvirzās ārpus šīs pamatbūves telpām. Arhitekti piedāvā tur izvietot lasītavu, klusuma telpu un administrācijai vajadzīgās telpas. Praktiski ļoti lielu daļu no telpām, kuras ir paredzētas virsbūves daļā, varētu ievietot pagrabā. Un visa šī rekonstrukcija, pēc tādiem nelieliem aprēķiniem, varētu maksāt kaut kur nedaudz vairāk par pusmiljonu. Turklāt tur ļoti saprātīgi varētu rekonstruēt arī pacēlājus, kas tagad tiek piedāvāti ļoti nepraktiski. Es esmu pietiekami daudz darbojusies ar šo jautājumu sociālajā jomā, un ir skaidrs, ka tur ir jāpārbūvē... nav jāiebūvē n-tie pacēlāji, bet tur ir jāiebūvē viens normāls lifts, lai varētu piekļūt gan pazemes stāvam, gan arī esošās ēkas virsējam stāvam. Tātad mēs varētu sakārtot gan Latvijas Okupācijas muzeju, gan arī ļoti lielu naudas daļu tomēr novirzīt Stabu ielai. Un, redzot šo arhitektu skici, šo plānojumu pa stāviem, tā ir... Nu, es neesmu arhitekte, bet es vienkārši redzu, cik šī ēka ir ideāla, lai to pēc sakārtošanas varētu izmantot ļoti daudzām muzeja vajadzībām. Arhitekte minēja piemēru ar Holokausta centru, kur arī ir milzīga ēka, dažādas ar šo tematiku saistītas telpas, kurās mitinās dažādas organizācijas. Tur notiek konferences un semināri, tur ir bibliotēkas, izstāžu zāles un viss pārējais. Mēs tiešām par šiem 7 miljoniem varētu sakopt un lieliski apsaimniekot Stūra māju Stabu ielā, un, domājot par saturu, mēs varētu šajā mājā koncentrēt gan pētniecisko darbību varbūt, gan ekspozīcijas, gan jauniešu darbu, gan visdažādākās sabiedriskās aktivitātes mēs varētu koncentrēt šajā Stabu ielas mājā. Līdz ar to būtu nošauti divi zaķi: būtu sakārtots Latvijas Okupācijas muzejs, nepiebūvējot vēl blakus tādu “apendiksu”, kas izbojātu Rīgas panorāmu... sacīsim, bez lieliem... faktiski bez zaudējumiem pašam Latvijas Okupācijas muzejam... un būtu sakārtota arī Stūra māja. Šie mani apsvērumi balstās tikai uz šo arhitektu argumentāciju, un es uzskatu, ka mums šajā jautājumā būtu jāvadās pēc tiem. Paldies.".
