Es uzskatu, ka būtu dziļu pārdomu vērts gan pozīcijai, gan opozīcijai apsvērt viņa kandidatūru, ja mums būtu cita sistēma un ja viņam tiktu dota iespēja veidot valdību pēc saviem uzskatiem - veidot, kā viņš teica, savu komandu. Bet kāpēc no opozīcijas puses ir tik lielas šaubas un faktiski tā atbalsta nav? Tāpēc, ka nav arī lielas ticības, ka Kučinska kungam kā pieredzējušam politiķim izdosies izveidot to komandu. Vienreiz no Saeimas tribīnes es jau pateicu, kā izskatās valdošā koalīcija mūsu izpratnē jeb mūsu redzējumā (un ne tikai mūsu, bet arī tautas redzējumā!) -, ka tie, kā fabulā teikts, ir kā gulbis, vēzis un līdaka (lai Ingmārs neapvainojas!). Tā tas tiešām ir. Un, starp citu, arī deklarācija par to liecina, jo tur ir daudz vispārēju vārdu, lai apmierinātu šos koalīcijas “terārija” dalībniekus, lai apmierinātu viņu intereses. Tāpat tas izpaužas arī tanī, ka jau šodien viena otra amata kandidāta izteikumi, nu, godīgi sakot, rada zināmu neizpratni par to, kā tad rīkosies valdība kā komanda. Neticība spējai izveidot to komandu rada arī neuzticēšanos valdībai. Otrs moments, ko es gribu īpaši uzsvērt un par ko šodien arī bija runa, - par Saeimas prestižu un par visu pārējo. Man šķiet, ka tas ir ļoti svarīgi arī premjerministra amata kandidātam - zināt, ka ir vāja sadarbība starp Ministru kabinetu un parlamentu. Varbūt formāli tā izpaužas diezgan labi: ministri nāk uz Koalīcijas padomi, klausās, ko saka Koalīcijas padomes locekļi. Taču praktiskā sadarbība, veidojot likumprojektus, strādājot pie likumdošanas procesiem, ir diezgan vājā līmenī. Un tādējādi Saeimā nonāk, nu, es tā maigi teiktu, ne visai labi izstrādāti likumprojekti. Un trešais. Daudz ir runāts un arī deklarācijā ir minēts par sadarbību ar nevalstiskajām organizācijām. Neapšaubāmi, tā ir svarīga. Neapšaubāmi, tā notiek arī šodien. Bet, ja mēs runājam par partneriem, tad jāteic, ka pirmais partneris, oficiāls partneris, atzīts partneris, kuram savu uzticību ir dāvājuši vēlētāji, ir Saeimas opozīcija. Deklarēt, ka jebkurš opozīcijas priekšlikums ir noraidāms tikai tādēļ, ka to ir iesniegusi opozīcija, - tas, maigi izsakoties, ir muļķīgi. Ar opozīciju ir grūti sadarboties, neapšaubāmi! Bet opozīcija ir vajadzīga, un ir jābūt konstruktīvai sadarbībai ar opozīciju.
