Ja mēs citām organizācijām esam atdevuši īpašumus, tad noteikti bija jābalso arī par īpašuma nodošanu Ārstu biedrībai, zinot vēl to, ka ārstu profesijas darbiniekiem nemaz tik viegli neveicas līdzšinējā darbībā un šo ēku viņi izmanto (nomā) jau ilgus gadus. Es domāju, ka viņi gan morāli, gan fiziski, gan juridiski ir pelnījuši, ka šī ēka pāriet Ārstu biedrībai. Un tas veicinātu arī vēl lielāku ārstu saliedētību. Kas attiecas uz otro jautājumu – likumprojektu “Afganistānas kara veterānu sociālās aizsardzības likums” –, šeit, man liekas, būtu ļoti uzmanīgi jāpieiet šim likumprojektam, jāmēģina to vispusīgi aplūkot, jo tas saistās ar Latvijas atrašanos Padomju Savienības ietekmes sfērā. Ne jau tikai Afganistānā bija misijas, kurās piedalījās dienējušie Latvijas iedzīvotāji, bet šeit tiek izceltas tikai Afganistānas kara veterānu sociālās aizsardzības... tiesības uz šo aizsardzību, bet, es domāju, ja papētītu, vēsturnieki mums varētu pamatoti norādīt arī citas misijas, kas Padomju Savienības laikā bija jāpilda Latvijas iedzīvotājiem, tad arī to dalībnieki būtu pelnījuši tikpat lielu uzmanību kā Afganistānā karojušie un katrs no viņiem būtu pelnījis lielāku sociālo aizsardzību. Es ļoti ceru, ka mēs saprātīgi pieiesim un aplūkosim šo jautājumu daudzpusīgi, nevis tikai vienas misijas ietvaros. Gribētu atgādināt, ka vakardien Saeimā bija ļoti priecīgs notikums – 20 gadi apritēja Augstskolu likumam. Tie pagāja, godīgi sakot, ļoti, ļoti nemanot, bet pēc vakardienas, varētu teikt, jubilejas sēdes varēja just, ka ir ļoti labi, ka šāds likums Latvijā tika izstrādāts. Protams, tika pieminēti (šoreiz varbūt mazāk) arī tie mīnusi, kas nav novērsti. Tie saistās ar finansējumu zinātnei un augstskolām, bet, kopumā ņemot, šis likums tomēr ir devis ļoti daudz pozitīvu rādītāju un veicinājis mūsu augstskolu pārstrukturēšanos, attīstību, pārorganizēšanos. Vēl varētu atgādināt, ka “No sirds Latvijai” bija jāatbild uz jautājumiem, kas saistās ar aktuāliem notikumiem Latvijā. Priecēja tas, ka viena no Latvijas skolotājām ir izvirzīta apbalvošanai no 8000 pretendentiem un iekļuva starp 50 labākajām nominētajām personām no daudzām valstīm. Tas tikai apliecina to, ka arī šodien pieņemtais likums “Par Rēzeknes Tehnoloģiju akadēmijas Satversmi” ir tas, kas palīdz uzturēt šo kvalitāti, un mēs varam lepoties ar daudziem skolotājiem attiecīgajās specialitātēs. Un būtiskākais jautājums dienaskārtībā, protams, ir valdības sastādīšana. Šajā jautājumā “No sirds Latvijai” ir savs viedoklis, savi priekšlikumi. Tāpēc mēs ļoti uzmanīgi sekojam visiem notikumiem, kas saistās ar Ministru prezidenta nominēšanu. Vakardien Riharda Kozlovska atteikšanās pildīt šo misiju izvirza atkal jaunas versijas, kas varētu būt un ko varētu “No sirds Latvijai” dot šajā procesā, lai stiprinātu mūsu valsts darbu.
