Akcīzes nodokļa paaugstināšana palielinās inflāciju, jo, kā zināms, gandrīz visu preču, produktu un pakalpojumu cenu izmaiņas ir tieši saistītas ar degvielas cenu, kas ir viens no galvenajiem inflāciju veicinošiem faktoriem un tādējādi skar ikvienu Latvijas iedzīvotāju. Kārtējo reizi tas jo sāpīgi skars tieši cilvēkus ar zemākiem ienākumiem, tas ir, gandrīz trešdaļu Latvijas iedzīvotāju, tajā skaitā vairāk nekā 40 procentus vientuļo vecāku. Un šis rādītājs mums, starp citu, ir trešais augstākais Eiropas Savienībā. Tas skars pusaudžus un gados vecākus cilvēkus. Jau tā nabadzības riskam pakļauto pusaudžu skaits ir pieaudzis līdz 47,7 procentiem un cilvēku virs 65 gadiem - līdz 39,3 procentiem. Diemžēl šī dinamika tikai virzās uz augšu un šo cilvēku skaits palielinās. Laukos bez mašīnas nevar iztikt. Īpaši aktuāli tas ir tajās apdzīvotajās vietās, kur nav sabiedriskā transporta, vai arī tas kursē reizi dienā. Mašīna ir īpaši nepieciešama ģimenēm ar bērniem. Ja pieņem, ka ik dienu ar mašīnu tiek nobraukti tikai 50 kilometri, tad gada laikā ģimenes izdevumi palielinās par vairāk nekā 50 eiro. Šeit klātesošajiem varbūt tā liksies smieklīga summa, taču simtiem ģimeņu tas būs nepaceļams slogs. Akcīzes nodokļa paaugstināšana radīs arī lielākus izdevumus, lai segtu zaudējumus sabiedriskā transporta pakalpojumu sniedzējiem. Budžetā iekļautais palielinājums no 35,9 miljoniem uz 36,2 miljoniem vai izrādīties nepietiekams, īpaši tad, ja degvielas cenu samazinājums apstāsies un cenas sāks kāpt. Turklāt valdība jau tagad neizslēdz šādu iespēju, nolemjot, ka gadījumā, ja plānotās finanses zaudējumu segšanai sabiedriskā transporta pakalpojumu sniedzējiem izrādīsies nepietiekamas, Satiksmes ministrijai būs tikai jāsagatavo pieprasījums papildu finansējumam no līdzekļiem neparedzētiem gadījumiem. “No sirds Latvijai” uzskata, ka nav pieļaujams palielināt akcīzes nodokļa likmi, jo zemākas degvielas cenas gan palielina degvielas patēriņu, gan veicina ekonomisko aktivitāti kopumā. Īpaši tas ir būtiski pašlaik, kad tautsaimniecības izaugsmes tempi ir samazinājušies. Saskaņā ar Valsts ieņēmumu dienesta publiskoto informāciju šī gada deviņos mēnešos akcīzes nodokļa plāns, kāds tas ir noteikts 2015.gada budžetā, jau ir pārsniegts par vairāk nekā 18 miljoniem eiro. Pat ja pieņem, ka degvielas patēriņa pieaugums 2016.gadā būs uz pusi lēnāks, arī tad budžeta projektā plānotos papildu 10,3 miljonus eiro akcīzes nodokļa ieņēmumu ir iespējams iekasēt. “No sirds Latvijai” ieskatā, nav izvērtēti visi faktori, kas saistīti ar ieņēmumiem no akcīzes nodokļa degvielai, tostarp ietekme uz inflāciju un degvielas patēriņu, kontrabandas iespējamā palielināšanās un it īpaši sociālās sekas. Uzskatu par nepieņemamu šādu būtisku lēmumu pieņemt, balstoties tikai uz grāmatvediskiem aprēķiniem par to, cik valsts budžetā varēs iekasēt papildus un kāda varētu būt akcīzes nodokļa aptuvenā ietekme uz inflāciju. Aiz skaitļiem mēs kārtējo reizi neredzam cilvēkus un nedzirdam sabiedrību. Cik ilgi? Tā ir spēle ar uguni.".
