Nacionālās drošības koncepcija sevī iekļauj daudzas vispārzināmas patiesības, un ir vērtīgi tās vēlreiz uzskaitīt, atgādināt un ielāgot. Piemēram, stratēģiskā komunikācija ar Latvijas reģioniem, sabiedrisko mediju pieejamība visā Latvijas teritorijā. Uzsvērts, ka to saturā nepieciešama arī informācija par norisēm Latvijas reģionos. Īpaša uzmanība esot jāpievērš uzņēmējdarbības iniciatīvas attīstīšanai Latvijas reģionos. Tātad kopumā šis dokuments ir atbalstāms. Tomēr mans pienākums ir izteikt īsu komentāru un arī zināmas bažas, kas radušās, tuvāk iepazīstoties ar koncepcijas tekstu. No vienas puses, var piekrist, ka dažreiz Latgale un tās savpatnības, kas pēc būtības ir vēsturiski izveidojušās latviskās reģionālās vērtības, tiek nelietīgi iepītas kādā propagandas stāstā. Spilgts piemērs: kādam no sociālo tīklu anonīmajiem komentāriem bija pievienots izkropļots Latgales karoga attēls ar uzrakstu kirilicā - “Latgales tautas republika”. Toreiz plašsaziņas līdzekļi sacēla milzīgu vētru. Rezultāts - sabiedrībā diemžēl var kādreiz rasties greizs priekšstats, ka visa Latgale un viss, kas ar Latgali saistīts, ir Latvijai bīstams. Tikpat labi Zilupes iedzīvotājs varētu izdomāt, ka Kurzemes, Vidzemes un Zemgales šķietamās atšķirības ir ārvalstu specdienestu inspirētas un rada draudus pārējai Latvijai. Gribu uzsvērt un atgādināt, ka Latgales latviešu tā sauktās atšķirības, to sargāšana, kopšana, skaidrošana un mācīšana jaunākajām paaudzēm ir vienas no svarīgākajām Latvijas valsts drošības garantijām. Gadu desmitiem un gadu simtiem nestās Latgales latviskās vērtības joprojām turas galvenokārt tikai uz atsevišķu personību un nevalstisko organizāciju pleciem. Diemžēl jāteic, ka šis nacionālajai drošībai patiesi svarīgais aspekts bieži tiek piemirsts, ignorēts, sagrozīts vai pat nosodīts no valsts iestāžu puses. Svaigs piemērs. Tieslietu ministrijas pakļautībā esošais Valsts valodas centrs jau atkārtoti draud ar sankcijām un pat naudas sodiem Kārsavas novada domei par to, ka tā ir atbalstījusi patiesi patriotisku un arī tūrisma attīstībai vērtīgu ideju - izveidojusi ielu nosaukumu norādes abās latviešu valodas literārajās tradīcijās. Tā nav nekāda ārvalstu specdienestu mahinācija vai šķietamu atšķirību radīšana. Tieši otrādi! Kad valsts diemžēl vairāk bārstās ar skaistiem lozungiem par reģionu attīstību un drošības koncepcijām, šī ir Latvijas valsts Satversmē un likumos balstīta pašvaldības un pilsoņu nepārprotama rīcība reģionālā patriotisma stiprināšanai Latvijas valsts, Eiropas Savienības un NATO pierobežā. Ja kāds nelabvēlis ļoti gribēs, tad izskaidrojumu manis tikko izklāstītajam gadījumam ar Valsts valodas centru, iespējams, atradīs arī šajā Nacionālās drošības koncepcijā. Citēju: “Identificējami arī centieni ilgtermiņā radīt Latvijas iedzīvotājos neticību savai valstij un valsts pārvaldes institūcijām. Patiešām ceru, ka viss vēl nav tik traki. Ceru, ka manis izteiktās bažas tiks kliedētas Nacionālās drošības plānā, kas šodien tik daudz tiek pieminēts. Jāatgādina: visiem Latvijas iedzīvotājiem ir vieni likumi, viena Satversme. Un, ja, piemēram, kāds no Ministru kabineta noteikumiem rada greizas interpretācijas jeb pretrunas ar likumiem, tad tās, ceru, tiks iespējami ātri novērstas reģionu ekonomiskās attīstības un Nacionālās drošības koncepcijas vārdā.
