Latvijas Reģionu apvienībai arī šī ir savā ziņā būtiska sēde, jo Latvijas Reģionu apvienība bija iesniegusi priekšlikumu izdarīt grozījumus Latvijas Republikas Satversmē, atceļot Saeimas deputātu administratīvo imunitāti. Šobrīd, ja Saeimas deputāts, piemēram, pāriet ielu pie sarkanās gaismas, līdzīgi kā to var izdarīt jebkurš Latvijas iedzīvotājs, tad viņš nevar tūlīt saņemt sodu par savu pārkāpumu, bet policijas darbiniekam, kurš noformē protokolu un pieņem lēmumu par šo pārkāpumu, ir jāvēršas Saeimas Mandātu, ētikas un iesniegumu komisijā, un tad šai komisijai, kā arī pēc tam visiem Saeimas deputātiem ir jālemj par to, vai šo deputātu var administratīvi sodīt par to, ka viņš ir pārgājis ielu pie sarkanās gaismas. Vairākas starptautiskās organizācijas, tajā skaitā Starptautiskā pretkorupcijas organizācija GRECO un arī Vīnes komisija, ir norādījušas jau iepriekš Latvijai, ka šis faktiski ir novecojis institūts un tā mērķis ir pasargāt deputātu no kādām politiskām represijām. Taču tiesiskā valstī, kādā, es gribu ticēt, mēs dzīvojam, šādas politiskas represijas no tiesībsargājošo iestāžu puses, nebūtu iespējamas, un pat tad, ja šis lēmums nebūtu pamatots, tad arī deputātam, tieši tāpat kā jebkuram citam cilvēkam, ir tiesības vērsties tiesā un šo nepamatoto lēmumu apstrīdēt. Saeima šo mūsu priekšlikumu šodien atbalstīja, nodeva komisijām, un mēs ļoti ceram un ticam, ka arī nākotnē šī turpmākā virzība tiks Saeimas Juridiskajā komisijā nodrošināta. Vēl, kā jau kolēģis pieminēja, šodien tika skatīti grozījumi Saeimas kārtības rullī par Saeimas Administrācijas izveidošanu. Latvijas Reģionu apvienība nepiedalījās šajā balsojumā, jo jāsaka tā – jo vairāk tiek uzsvērts, ka šis lēmums nav politisks, jo vairāk rodas aizdomas par to, ka tam tomēr ir kāda politiska aizmugure un ka tā varētu būt savā ziņā arī politiska izrēķināšanās ar pašreizējo Saeimas vadību. Diemžēl Latvijas Reģionu apvienībai nav iespējas... nav pārstāvības Saeimas Prezidijā, tāpēc pie pašas lēmuma pieņemšanas un motivācijas mēs netiekam un tāpēc arī šajā balsojumā mēs atturējāmies. Taču šeit bija vairāki Latvijas Reģionu apvienības iesniegti priekšlikumi saistībā ar iespēju deputātam, ja pret viņu ir izvirzītas apsūdzības krimināllietā, nolikt savu mandātu uz laiku, kamēr šī lieta tiek skatīta atbilstoši normatīvajiem aktiem gan iestādēs, gan tiesā. Jāsaka, kolēģi pašreiz šos priekšlikumus diemžēl neatbalstīja, taču mēs esam saņēmuši apsolījumu, ka tie varētu tikt atbalstīti tuvākajā nākotnē, virzot citus grozījumus Saeimas kārtības rullī un izskatot tos trijos lasījumos, nevis steidzamības kārtībā. Jāsaka, esam uzticējušies kolēģiem, lai gan līdzšinējā prakse nav pierādījusi, ka tas vienmēr attaisnojas, bet ceram, ka šoreiz tas attaisnosies.
