Jūsu uzmanībai tiek nodots Nacionālās apvienības izstrādātais un iesniegtais likumprojekts, kas paredz Saeimas deputātu algu saglabāšanu arī nākamgad pašreizējā līmenī. Mēs piedāvājam nepaaugstināt Saeimas deputātu algas un atstāt tās tādas, kādas tās ir. Kolēģi, mēs esam Saeimas deputāti. Mūsu rokās ir liela atbildība. Mēs lemjam par daudziem būtiskiem dzīves jautājumiem, tajā skaitā par valsts budžetu. Mūsu pirmais un galvenais uzdevums ir rūpēties par vismazāk aizsargātajām iedzīvotāju grupām. Esmu gandarīta, ka valdība atradusi iespēju palielināt minimālo algu nākamgad par 10 eiro, par tikpat lielu summu celt neapliekamo minimumu un ieviest solidaritātes nodokli, lai lielo algu saņēmēji maksātu līdzīgus nodokļus kā mazo algu saņēmēji. Ir arī citas iniciatīvas, kas ved uz sociālo solidaritāti. Tajā pašā laikā ir diezgan daudz neizdarītu darbu, diezgan daudz neatrisinātu lietu. Mēs Saeimā esam saņēmuši 70 tūkstošu pensionāru parakstītu aicinājumu par pensiju indeksāciju, bet valdība par to nav spriedusi, un budžeta projektā šīs iniciatīvas nav. 70 tūkstošu pensionāru parakstītais aicinājums ir nonācis Saeimā, un es ceru, ka visdrīzākajā laikā tas būs komisiju darba kārtībā. Acīmredzot būs jāmeklē kompromisi un arī jāsper soļi šajā virzienā. Nav atrisināts līdz galam jautājums par skolotāju atalgojuma finansēšanas modeli. Tāpat algas virknē jomu, kas prasa daudz cilvēciskas uzmanības un smaga darba (piemēram, medmāsām), joprojām ir ļoti zemas. Kolēģi deputāti! Mēs nedzīvojam ideālā pasaulē. Tikai ideālā pasaulē var valdīt vispārēja apmierinātība. Šodien mēs esam tālu no tās. Labklājības Latvijai mēs varam tuvināties, ja domājam vispirms par citiem un tikai pēc tam - par sevi. Saeimas deputāti ir tautas priekšstāvji, un mēs katrs esam saņēmuši savu vēlētāju - Latvijas tautas - uzticības kredītu. No mums ir atkarīgs, kas ar šo uzticības kredītu notiks, - vai mēs to izniekosim un radīsim vilšanos par parlamenta darbu vai - gluži otrādi! - šo uzticības kredītu spēsim vairot. Atšķirībā no Latvijas Reģionu apvienības iesniegtā likumprojekta Nacionālā apvienība ierosina iesaldēt tikai Saeimas deputātu algas (lemjam tikai par sevi!), un šis likumprojekts neattiecas uz Ministru prezidenta (Sēdes vadītājs noklaudzina ar āmuru.), ministru, parlamentāro sekretāru, tiesībsarga, Valsts kontroles, Centrālās vēlēšanu komisijas, Centrālās zemes komisijas, Augstākās izglītības padomes, kā arī citu neatkarīgo institūciju amatpersonu atalgojumu.
