Šodien par Saeimas sēdes darba kārtības centrālo un nozīmīgāko jautājumu vajadzēja kļūt Ministru prezidentes Laimdotas Straujumas ziņojumam par to, kā mums valstī līdz šim veicies ar Latvijas ilgtspējīgas attīstības stratēģijas un Nacionālā attīstības plāna izpildi, tas ir, par to, kas ir paveikts, kur mēs esam nonākuši un kurp virzīsimies tālāk. Diemžēl nācās vilties un konstatēt, ka darbs ir izdarīts pavirši, bez pienācīgas atbildības, un turklāt jāsecina, ka šoreiz pat nebija ievērotas likumā noteiktās prasības. Kā jau pavadvēstulē godīgi atzīts, Ministru prezidente ir iesniegusi Pārresoru koordinācijas centra izstrādātu informatīvo ziņojumu ar Ministru prezidentes parakstītiem ievadvārdiem lasītājiem, nevis Ministru prezidentes ikgadējo ziņojumu, kā to nosaka Saeimas kārtības rullis. Pēc būtības Saeimā iesniegtais dokuments ir klasiska atrakstīšanās, kurā demonstrēta klaja vienaldzība par to, kas notiek ar valsts attīstību. Te nav redzams, vai valsts līderis vēlas kaut ko darīt, lai situāciju mainītu. Tāpēc mēs aicinājām Ministru prezidenti godīgi atzīt nepadarīto, atsaukt šo ziņojumu un iesniegt kvalitatīvi sagatavotu ikgadējo Ministru prezidentes ziņojumu. Ziņojums arī kārtējo reizi parāda šīs valdības nespēju izvirzīt skaidrus mērķus un iedvesmot ierēdņus tos sasniegt. Mums trūkst skaidras nodokļu, izglītības, ostu attīstības politikas un konkrētas darbības, lai aizstāvētu Latvijas valsts nacionālās intereses. Tieši tāpēc mēs esam uzdevuši izglītības un zinātnes ministrei deputātu jautājumus par zinātnes attīstību un tās finansēšanu, par iemesliem bērnu interešu izglītības finansējuma samazināšanai; esam iesnieguši jautājumus, kas skar ostu un tranzīta politiku un Satiksmes ministrijas kopējo redzējumu par šīs jomas tālāko attīstību. Runājot par citiem šodien izskatītajiem jautājumiem, vēlos vērst jūsu uzmanību arī uz “No sirds Latvijai” atbalstītajiem grozījumiem, kas skar deputātu un citu amatpersonu atalgojuma iesaldēšanu. Mēs uzskatām, ka situācijā, kad budžetā nav naudas, lai palielinātu pensijas, paaugstinātu atalgojumu skolotājiem un mediķiem, deputātu algu paaugstināšana nav pieņemama. Diemžēl jāsecina, ka arī šajā budžetā izpildvara nav pieņēmusi nopietnus un pārdomātus lēmumus par pedagogu atalgojuma palielināšanu un kārtējo reizi tiek piemirsts, ka šādi lēmumi ietekmē arī nākamo paaudzi. Mēs šobrīd nevaram ietekmēt pedagogu atalgojumu, bet varam spert vienu mazu soli, lai celtu pedagogu prestižu, Skolotāju dienā pateicoties viņiem par darbu. Un tāpēc “No sirds Latvijai” oktobrī rīko akciju “Apciemo savu skolotāju”, lai ikviens no mums izrādītu cieņu savam skolotājam, tādējādi kopumā novērtējot Latvijas pedagogu ieguldījumu. Aicinu ikvienu no mums aiziet, uzrakstīt vai piezvanīt un pateikt savam skolotājam paldies. Arī vārds “paldies” var sniegt papildu motivāciju mūsu skolotājiem. Viņi ir svarīgi, un lai vienmēr būtu sirdsgudri pedagogi arī mūsu bērniem un mazbērniem! Sirsnīgi sveicu mūsu pedagogus Skolotāju dienā! Pateicos.".
