Mēs zinām, ka sabiedrībā ļoti lielu sašutumu izraisīja vasarā izskanējusī informācija par notikumiem Liepājā. Juridiskā komisija nekavējoties sanāca uz sēdi un kopā ar Tieslietu ministriju izstrādāja vairākus būtiskus grozījumus, kuri paredz noteikt daudz bargākas soda sankcijas, kā arī pagarināt noilgumu termiņam, kurā cietušajām personām būs tiesības ziņot par šādiem iespējamiem noziedzīgiem nodarījumiem. Šobrīd, kā jau es minēju, Saeima atbalstīja šos grozījumus, un mūsu mērķis ir pēc iespējas ātrāk šos grozījumus pieņemt arī galīgajā lasījumā. Juridiskā komisija no savas puses ir noteikusi, ka bērnu tiesību aizsardzība un ar to saistītie likumprojekti būs Juridiskās komisijas prioritāte numur viens tuvākajā laika periodā. Noteikti šodien ir jārunā arī par tieslietu ministra demisijas pieprasījumu, ko bija iesniegusi partija SASKAŅA. Šobrīd es gribu aicināt ikvienu radioklausītāju iepazīties ar to atskaiti, ko tieslietu ministrs sniedza par to, ko Tieslietu ministrija ir darījusi un dara tiesiskuma stiprināšanā. Es vēlos norādīt arī to, ka Nacionālās apvienības ministri, šķiet, ir vienīgie, kas dažādos formātos ir snieguši atskaites par savā jomā paveikto. To savulaik ir darījuši gan mūsu kultūras ministri, gan arī tieslietu ministrs, un es domāju, ka būtu pilnīgs pamats varbūt ne šādā griezumā, bet... pilnīgs pamats būtu jebkuram ministram atskaitīties gan parlamentam, gan Saeimai par padarīto. Un visbeidzot es gribu runāt arī par būtiskāko jautājumu, kas gan nebija parlamenta šīsdienas sēdes darba kārtībā, bet kas noteikti būs tuvākajās dienās Eiropas lietu komisijas darba kārtībā. Tas ir jautājums par tā sauktajiem imigrantiem jeb bēgļiem. Es vēlos uzsvērt, ka Nacionālā apvienība savu pozīciju nav mainījusi. Mēs uzskatām, ka primāri ir jācīnās ar cēloņiem, ar šo bēgļu plūsmu, proti, jānosaka gan kārtība, kādā nošķirt kara bēgļus no ekonomiskajiem bēgļiem, gan jāiesaista vairāk arī starptautiskās organizācijas šo problēmu risināšanā. Tāpat ir jācīnās ar šo bēgļu kontrabandistiem (arī Eiropas Komisija ir atzinusi, ka šī problēma pastāv!). Un tikai tad mēs varam runāt par to, kā rīkoties seku gadījumā. Mūsu pozīcija ir nemainīga: šobrīd Latvijai papildu bēgļi nav jāuzņem. Paldies.".
