Otra lieta par to, ko iespaido tātad šāds lēmums un kādā veidā tas iespaido Latviju. Šeit nav runa tikai par zinātniekiem un par kaut kādu iespējamu miljonu sadali starp zinātniekiem. Tajā pētījumā, ko vēl... Tātad tajā laikā, iepriekšējo ekonomikas ministru laikā, Ekonomikas ministrijā tika veikts pētījums, kurā tika apzināts, ka Latvijā ir vismaz 120 ne mazāku kā vidēju uzņēmumu pēc sava apjoma, kuri ir ieinteresēti ar savu produkciju, ar savu šībrīža produkciju un ar savu nākotnes produkciju, piedalīties šajās Eiropas Kosmosa aģentūras programmās. Un par ko konkrēti ir runa? Runa ir gan par tātad sakaru tehniku, it sevišķi tajā aspektā, kas skar satelīta tehnikas izmantošanu, gan par dažādiem jauniem materiāliem - gan par tekstilmateriāliem, gan par dažādiem kompozītmateriāliem, ko izmanto tātad kosmosa industrijā, bet kas tikpat lielā mērā ir izmantojami arī tautsaimniecībā tajās jomās, kur mēs saskaramies ar augstām temperatūrām, kur mēs saskaramies ar augstām dažādām strāvas frekvencēm un tā tālāk. Tā ka šeit pēc būtības tā ir programma, kur ar kosmosam atbilstošiem līdzekļiem tiek veicināta jaunu produktu radīšana - tādu produktu, kuru radīšanai varbūt lielās pasaules valstis ar savām industrijām nemaz neķeras klāt, jo tām šie apjomi ir par maziem, bet Latvija kā nišas produktu radīšanas valsts šinī gadījumā var būt nozīmīgs spēlētājs tieši šajā te Eiropas Kosmosa aģentūras tirgū. Un par šīm te lietām tad arī ir runa. Tātad principā par Latvijas tautsaimniecības... par investīcijām Latvijas tautsaimniecībā caur iespēju piedalīties šajās te Eiropas Kosmosa aģentūras daudzajās programmās, un vienlaikus arī šādā te veidā tā ir iespēja mūsu zinātniekiem... tiešām mūsu zinātniekiem smelties jaunu pieredzi, uzņemt jaunus kontaktus, būt atzītiem partneriem, nevis tikai, teiksim, izpalīgiem vai asistentiem un beidzot ieiet nopietnā Eiropas zinātnes apritē. Un tāpēc es aicinu balsot “par” šo apropriācijas pārdali, un nav taisnība, ka Saeimai pār to nav nekādas teikšanas, jo Kārlis Šadurskis, Budžeta un finanšu (nodokļu) komisijas priekšsēdētājs, neļaus man sameloties, ka noteikti taču Budžeta un finanšu (nodokļu) komisijā šis jautājums ir skatīts (Dep.
