Raimonda Vējoņa iecelšanu aizsardzības ministra amatā daži dēvēja par diversiju un Nacionālo bruņoto spēku beigu sākumu, bet jau drīz socioloģiskās aptaujas vēstīja, ka aizsardzības ministrs ir sabiedrībā atzītākais Ministru kabineta loceklis.
