Pēc Saeimas pagājušās sēdes Nacionālās apvienības frakcija 22.maijā nominēja Latvijas Valsts prezidenta amatam oficiāli – nu jau oficiāli! – Egilu Levitu. Egilu Levitu mēs uzskatām par visperspektīvāko un labāko kandidātu, par kuru Saeima balsos jau Saeimas sēdē 3.jūnijā. Egils Levits raksturojams kā demokrāts, kā pieredzējis politiķis, jurists, tiesību eksperts, politologs, un viņš palicis Latvijas vēsturē jau šobrīd ar divām izdarītām lietām: viņš bija tas cilvēks, kas laikā, kad tika pieņemta 1990.gada 4.maija Neatkarības atjaunošanas deklarācija, iestājās par konsekventu Latvijas Republikas atjaunošanu uz 1918.gada 18.novembra valstiskuma pamatiem, un viņš ir viens no autoriem spēkā esošajai Satversmes preambulai. Līdz ar to mēs esam atraduši tiešām potenciāli labāko kandidātu un cerēsim uz veiksmi Valsts prezidenta vēlēšanās. Egils Levits ir iestājies arī par pagātnes pārvarējumu. Un šodien Saeimas sēdē tika izskatīts jauns likumprojekts – “Bijušās Valsts drošības komitejas dokumentu zinātniskās izpētes likums”, kuru sagatavojusi Tieslietu ministrija un virzīja Juridiskā komisija. Šis likumprojekts ir vērsts uz to, lai tiktu nodrošināts finansējums VDK dokumentu zinātniskās izpētes komisijai, kurai jau no 1.janvāra bija jāstrādā, bet kura sakarā ar pāreju no vienas ministrijas pārraudzības uz otru nevarēja uzsākt darbu. Šobrīd ir veiktas zinātniskās iestrādes, ir zinātniskais plāns, un šis likumprojekts dotu finansējumu konkrētiem zinātniekiem un arī administrēšanu no Latvijas Universitātes Latvijas vēstures institūta, kuru paši komisijas locekļi uzskata par pašu kompetentāko šajā lietā. Un arī viņi uzskata, ka šādā gadījumā nebūtu nekādas politiskās iejaukšanās komisijas darbībā. Vēl. Šajā Saeimas sēdē tika atbalstīti divi Valsts pārvaldes un pašvaldības komisijas sagatavoti nopietni likumprojekti, likumu grozījumi. Viens no tiem ir likumprojekts “Grozījumi likumā “Par palīdzību dzīvokļa jautājumu risināšanā””. Tas ir ļoti būtisks ierosinājums, kurš guva komisijas atbalstu un tagad arī visas Saeimas atbalstu, – ka pašvaldība ir tiesīga piešķirt dzīvokļus uz darba tiesisko attiecību laiku jaunajiem speciālistiem. Pašvaldībām tas ir ļoti nozīmīgi, lai piesaistītu vajadzīgos speciālistus dažādos Latvijas novados. Tikpat nozīmīgs ir arī likumprojekts “Grozījumi Dzīvesvietas deklarēšanas likumā”, kurš, piemēram, paredz, ka jaundzimušu bērnu jau dzimtsarakstu nodaļā var deklarēt konkrētā dzīvesvietā, arī ārpus tās vietas, kur viņš ir dzimis, un dzimtsarakstu nodaļa tad paziņo konkrētajai pašvaldībai par šo deklarāciju. 21., 22.maijā Rīgā notika Austrumu partnerības samits – lielākais kopš NATO samita Rīgā 2006.gadā. Un zīmīgi tas, ka no Saeimas puses... ka Saeimas deputāti, to skaitā Nacionālās apvienības frakcijas deputāti, tikās ar šī lielā samita, Austrumu partnerības samita, dalībvalstu nacionālo parlamentu deputātiem un pārrunāja virzību attiecībā uz nākamajiem diviem gadiem, jo 2017.gadā ir nākošais lielais Austrumu partnerības samits, un tika spriests, kā efektīvi sadarboties ne tikai daudzpusējās sarunās, bet arī divpusējās attiecībās, piemēram, Latvija–Ukraina, sniedzot praktisku palīdzību un padomus, kas vērsti uz reformu, cilvēktiesību, demokrātijas, tiesiskuma īstenošanu praksē.
