Nodokļu maksātājiem tiek novienādota tā kārtība, kādā var apstrīdēt Valsts ieņēmumu dienesta pieņemtos lēmumus. Tas, protams, ir pozitīvi. Un pārējie grozījumi ir saistīti ar paša Valsts ieņēmumu dienesta administratīvās darbības pilnveidošanu, sakārtošanu un novienādošanu. Vispirmām kārtām tas attiecas uz Muitas policijas ierēdņiem un Finanšu policijas ierēdņiem, kuriem būs vienādas tiesības tajos gadījumos, kad ir jāatklāj un jānovērš noziedzīgi nodarījumi. Tātad arī visas šīs amatpersonas varēs lietot šaujamieročus. Vēl viens no tādiem administratīviem regulējumiem ir tas, ka Valsts ieņēmumu dienesta ģenerāldirektors pārbaudes laiku savām amatpersonām varēs noteikt no 3 līdz 6 mēnešiem un ka arī ģenerāldirektora vietnieks, kurš atbild par muitas amatpersonu darbību, kurām ir dienesta pakāpe, arī varēs saņemt šo dienesta pakāpi. Un vēl viens ļoti svarīgs, būtisks grozījums ir tas, ka arī muitas dienestā strādājošās personas, kurām ir dienesta pakāpe un formastērps... tad, kad tās atvaļināsies no dienesta, tās arī svētkos varēs nēsāt formastērpu, tāpat kā to var šodien Iekšlietu ministrijas dienesta ierēdņi un amatpersonas. Budžeta un finanšu (nodokļu) komisijas vārdā lūdzu atbalstīt likumprojektu “Grozījumi likumā “Par Valsts ieņēmumu dienestu”” pirmajā lasījumā.".
