Es aicinu šo priekšlikumu par partiju finansējuma palielināšanu nolikt rindas kārtībā, proti, lai tas nebūtu pirmais. Es piekrītu Viņķeles kundzei, ka politiķiem ir jāspēj pieņemt arī nepopulārus lēmumus, bet šo nepopulāro lēmumu arī es... Es to saku ne jau tāpēc, lai izdabātu tautai. Atcerēsimies vienu citu nepopulāru lēmumu, kuru mēs nespējām pieņemt. Arī tas bija politiķu finansēšanas virzienā, un tas notika iepriekšējo Saeimu noslēdzot. Tas bija jautājums par ministru atalgojuma palielināšanu, un to es uzskatītu par daudz primārāku jautājumu salīdzinājumā ar partiju finansēšanu. Toreiz daži teica, ka ministriem nevajag palielināt algas, jo viņiem ir jāstrādā vairāk no patriotisma. Es tam nevaru piekrist! Vairums tomēr pieturējās pie uzskata, ka, nu, vajadzētu tās algas tomēr palielināt, bet ne šajā brīdī. Tauta nesapratīs! Ja mēs gribam palielināt finansējumu politiķiem - vienalga, partijām vai ministriem -, tad es teiktu, ka tā rindas kārtība ir tāda: vispirms ir tas jautājums, kas šobrīd ir ielikts atvilktnē, - ministru algas, ja mēs to varam atļauties naudas ziņā, ja mēs to varam un spējam pamatot tautai. Tas ir pirmais. Un otrais jautājums rindas kārtībā... iespējams, ka... izskatās, ka šobrīd arī tas varētu būt atvilktnē... ir partiju finansējuma palielināšana, kas, bez šaubām, ir ļoti svarīgs jautājums, ļoti būtisks, un pēc iespējas ātrāk mums tam ir jātiek klāt. Bet pirmā rindas kārtībā ir ministru atalgojuma palielināšana. Paldies par iespējamo izpratni.".
