Pēc šīm kaismīgajām debatēm, kurās deputātam Kaimiņam bija ļoti daudz sakāmā, es apsvēru, vai vispār ir vērts par šo jautājumu runāt pēc šāda dīvaina ievada. Tomēr es aicinu deputātus nomierināties, arī Kaimiņa kungu nomierināties. Ir likums, pēc kura mēs strādājam. Pirmkārt, Saeimas kārtības rullis, kas nosaka, kā deputātam ir jādebatē. Otrkārt, Elektronisko plašsaziņas līdzekļu likums un tā normas, kas nosaka, kādā veidā padome tiek veidota, kādā veidā padome strādā. Es atgādināšu, ka, vēlot iepriekšējo NEPLP, Cilvēktiesību un sabiedrisko lietu komisija, kura tobrīd organizēja procesu, veica ļoti plašas konsultācijas ar nevalstiskajām organizācijām. Nevalstiskās organizācijas tika pieaicinātas Saeimas komisijas sēdē, kā arī tika rīkotas diskusijas ārpus Saeimas, piemēram, augstskolās. Tika rīkotas arī diskusijas Latvijas televīzijā. Tā ka apspriešanas process bija gana plašs un sabiedrība... protams, tie, kuri vēlējās, tika ļoti plaši iesaistīti. Ja Saeima atbalsta šo lēmuma projektu - un es aicinu to atbalstīt! -, tad, protams, aicinu arī nevalstiskās organizācijas virzīt kandidātus, domājot par profesionālo kvalifikāciju un piemērotību. Tas ir patiešām ļoti svarīgs aspekts. Negribu šobrīd runāt tik daudz par informatīvo karu - par to mēs, Saeimas deputāti, esam sprieduši -, bet NEPLP ir ļoti jādomā, kā sakārtot mediju telpu. Ne ar visiem NEPLP lēmumiem mēs, Saeimas deputāti, varam būt apmierināti. Un tāpēc kvalificētu, ļoti atbildīgu un godprātīgu cilvēku ievēlēšana NEPLP ir patiešām akūti nepieciešama. Es aicinu Saeimas deputātus, kuri strādā Cilvēktiesību un sabiedrisko lietu komisijā, kuri strādā ar mediju jautājumiem, protams, debatēt un diskutēt. Tomēr vārdi, kaismīgi vārdi, kas izskan gan no šīs tribīnes, gan no citām tribīnēm, vieni paši par sevi neko nemaina. Atgādināšu, ka Cilvēktiesību un sabiedrisko lietu komisija iepriekšējā sasaukumā iesniedza virkni likuma normu, to skaitā arī tādas, kas liedz NEPLP... kas liek NEPLP ievērot interešu konflikta novēršanas likuma normas tieši tāpat kā virknei citu amatpersonu un kas noteikti ir jāņem vērā arī nākamajiem kandidātiem, kuri plāno kandidēt uz NEPLP pārstāvju amatiem. Tātad patiešām aicinu saglabāt mieru, aicinu respektēt likumu, aicinu nevalstiskās organizācijas meklēt jaunus kandidātus un aicinu Saeimas kolēģus atbalstīt šo Saeimas lēmuma projektu.
