Katrs skolotājs, audzinātājs jau šobrīd ir atbildīgs par saturu, kas noteikts mācību priekšmetu standartos un mācību programmās, un par mācību materiāliem, ko izmanto šajās mācību stundās. Katrā skolā maija mēnesī tiek apstiprināts saraksts ar mācību literatūru, ko izmantos nākošajā mācību gadā, un ar to tiek iepazīstināti arī vecāki. Jau šobrīd, ja rodas aizdomas par nepiemērotu, netikumisku mācību līdzekļu izmantošanu stundās, vecākiem ir iespēja par to ziņot gan skolas vadībai, gan izglītības pārvaldēm, gan Izglītības kvalitātes valsts dienestam, gan Valsts bērnu tiesību aizsardzības inspekcijai. Skumji, ka grozījumu ierosinātāji maldina Latvijas tradicionālo kristīgo konfesiju vadītājus, sabiedriskās organizācijas par šo grozījumu jēgu un jau esošo situāciju izglītībā. Neviens Latvijā nav noteicis “Papardes zieda” vai kādas citas organizācijas izdotās brošūras vai citu literatūru par obligātu Latvijas skolās. Vēl briesmīgāk, ka šie jaunie ierosinājumi tiek pasniegti Krievijas televīzijā tendenciozi un izskan no to mūsu deputātu mutes, kuriem nav ne pedagoģiskās izglītības... kuri nevienu dienu nav arī strādājuši skolā. Un pēc sižeta var noprast, ka Latvijas skolās kopš neatkarības atgūšanas to vien māca kā netikumību. Žēl, ka LIZDA, tas ir, Latvijas Izglītības un zinātnes darbinieku arodbiedrība, nav atradusi laiku izteikties par šo jautājumu, jo tas rada papildu slodzi, nesaprotamu spriedzi skolotājiem un skolu administrācijai. Tad jau mums vispirms ir jāaizliedz interneta portāli, dažādi TV kanāli, atsevišķi preses izdevumi... un tā varētu turpināt. Es, protams, esmu par tikumisku un uz ģimenes vērtībām balstītu izglītību Latvijā, bet ne politisku farsu, kas šobrīd radīts ap šo jautājumu. Tāpēc es lūgšu atbalstīt arī šos Jāņa Vucāna ierosinātos grozījumus likumā. Paldies. (Frakcijas VIENOTĪBA aplausi.)".
