Vai patiešām esi pārliecināts, ka tu ar savu rīcību un darbību vairo sabiedrības uzticēšanos Saeimai? Šis likuma grozījums ierosināts, lai pirmām kārtām vairotu sabiedrības uzticēšanos tev, tevis pieņemtajiem lēmumiem un tevis ieceltam Valsts prezidentam. Vai tiešām tu domā, ka Latvija nav pelnījusi tikpat labu vai vēl labāku prezidentu, kāds tas ir Lietuvā un Igaunijā? Vai tiešām tev, lai pieņemtu savu lēmumu, ir jāslēpjas aiz augusta vai februāra muguras? Zaļo un Zemnieku savienības argumentu pret atklātu balsojumu, ka šādi ievēlēts prezidents jutīšoties nepilnvērtīgs, ka viņš tā īsti nevarēšot pārstāvēt visu tautu, jo visi zināšot, ka par viņu balsojuši... kas par viņu balsojuši, par absurdu ir nosaucis pat tev labi zināmais Aivars. Jā, tas pats Aivars Ozoliņš! Vai tu pats zini... Tu jau īstenībā tiešām zini, ka jau visas valsts amatpersonas, pilnīgi visas, izņemot Valsts prezidentu, tiek ievēlētas atklāti. Deputātu balsojumi ir publiski pieejami – par Saeimas priekšsēdētāju, par visu Saeimas Prezidiju, par valsts kontrolieri, par Valsts kontroles padomes locekļiem, Centrālās vēlēšanu komisijas priekšsēdētāju un Centrālās vēlēšanu komisijas locekļiem, Finanšu un kapitāla tirgus komisijas priekšsēdētāju un viņa vietnieku, par Latvijas Bankas prezidentu, viņa vietnieku un Latvijas Bankas padomes locekļiem, par Korupcijas novēršanas un apkarošanas biroja priekšnieku, tiesībsargu, par Nacionālās elektronisko plašsaziņas līdzekļu padomes priekšsēdētāju un šīs padomes locekļiem, par ģenerālprokuroru, par Augstākās tiesas priekšsēdētāju, par Nacionālo bruņoto spēku komandieri un Augstākās izglītības padomes locekļiem. Tikai balsojums par Valsts prezidentu pagaidām paliek vienīgais aizklātais balsojums Saeimā. Es to vienkārši atgādinu, ja tu esi aizmirsis. Janvāra sākumā Agešina kungs no šīs tribīnes mēģināja Saeimas deputātus kaunināt, sakot, ka vairums partiju tak esot iestājušās par tautas vēlētu Valsts prezidentu, tāpēc par šo atklātā balsojuma priekšlikumu nemaz vairs neesot jēgas runāt. Atļaušos atgādināt, ka tautas vēlētu Valsts prezidentu Latvija ieraudzīs ne ātrāk par 2019.gadu un tai idejai vēl būs jāiegūst divas trešdaļas Saeimas atbalsta visos trijos lasījumos. Tāpēc neļauj sev jaukt galvu! Vēlos tev atgādināt, ka šajā likumprojektā jau ir runa par Valsts prezidenta ievēlēšanu 2015.gadā, un, lūdzu, netēlo nezinīti, it kā tu nesaprastu! Ja tā padomā, tad no sirds jāpriecājas, ka pagājušajā nedēļā tu nenobalsoji par šī likumprojekta nodošanu izskatīšanai komisijās, jo tad šo jautājumu, piemēram, Juridiskā komisija, visticamāk, uzreiz noraidītu ar sešām balsīm pret piecām. Pēc tam, šī likumprojekta pirmajā lasījumā Saeimas sēdē, pašreizējais Saeimas sastāvs, visticamāk, nespētu tam panākt divu trešdaļu atbalstu (No zāles dep. S.Āboltiņa: “Arī komisijas vairākuma...!”), un rezultātā šis svarīgais jautājums tiktu bez lielas ažiotāžas ielikts neatbalstīto mapītē. Taču tagad, pēc plašas sabiedrības uzmanības pievēršanas šim jautājumam, tev vēl ir iespēja labot savu kļūdu. Tev ir iespēja uzticēties savam vēlētājam, tāpat kā viņš reiz ir uzticējies tev. Esi godīgs pret sevi un savu vēlētāju! Nebaidies, jo viņš novērtēs tavu patieso lēmumu! Nebalsojot “par” atklātu Valsts prezidenta ievēlēšanu, tu uzņemies atbildību par to, ka partiju slepenā tirgus rezultātā, iespējams, var tikt ievēlēts vājš Valsts prezidents. Slēgtā balsojumā tavs vēlētājs nevarēs uzzināt, ka tu neesi pie tā vainīgs, ka neesi atbalstījis viduvēju vai pat vāju Valsts prezidenta amata kandidātu. Un tad tev atkal būs jātaisnojas arī par šo balsojumu. Ja šajā balsojumā tu, sēžot savā deputāta krēslā, nespēsi aizsniegties līdz balsošanas pogai, tad tu apkaunosi sevi, savus vēlētājus un kļūsi par pārstāvi jaunai politisko partiju apvienībai.".
