Bet tomēr, ministra kungs, man ir kāds viens novēlējums, jo man ir bijis tas gods klausīties visas šīs debates, arī iepriekšējās, kad ir vispārīgi runāts par ārlietām. Tātad jautājums par sadarbību starp Baltijas valstīm. Te drusku šis jautājums tika jau aizskarts. Man gribētos teikt, ka tā “pa lielam” mums jau ir ļoti laba šī sadarbība starp Baltijas valstīm. Un nostāja tādos ļoti svarīgos jautājumos arī it kā būtu tāda vienāda. Bet principā, ja mēs runājam tā vispārīgi par vienotību - nevis politiskā izpratnē, bet šī vārda saturiskajā ziņā, šī... (No zāles dep. V.Agešins: “Un saskaņas!”) saskaņa, protams, jā, es domāju, ka tā mums klibo. Un tas, par ko es esmu pārliecinājies un ar kolēģiem esmu pārliecinājies, - ka tad, kad strādājam Eiropas Parlamentārajā Asamblejā, tad, kad notiek mums tās sanāksmes kopā visām Baltijas valstīm, sākotnēji mēs it kā runājam vienu, tā kā būtu labi. Un tāds viens piemērs man spilgti palika atmiņā: mūsu kaimiņi igauņi teica, ka vienu lietu jau nu viņi nekādā gadījumā neatļaus izdarīt, taču tad, kad pienāca brīdis, kad vajadzēja lemt un balsot, tad diemžēl mūsu kaimiņi nobalsoja pretēji, par ko es biju šokēts, ka tā tas sanāca. Tāpēc tāds... šis sadarbības jautājums starp Baltijas valstīm... es nerunāju jau par kaut kādu tālāku reģionu, kur mums ir nepieciešams... Es domāju, ka mums ir jāatrod... Es saprotu, ka zināmā veidā mēs konkurējam savā starpā. Bet pašlaik ir tāda situācija, ka mums ir jāatmet visas domstarpības un jābūt vienotiem un saskaņotiem. Par vārda brīvību. Es absolūti piekrītu tam, ko teica par vārda brīvību, - ka vārda brīvība, preses brīvība ir milzīgs ieguvums Eiropā un ka to nekādā gadījumā nevajag zaudēt. Bet man liekas, ka vārda brīvībai ir arī otra puse - milzīga atbildība. Un mēs bieži to pirmo pusi atceramies, bet to otru pusi mēs diemžēl dažreiz aizmirstam - ka par vārdu ir arī atbildība... par to, ko es pasaku. Un, man liekas, it sevišķi liela ir atbildība par to, ka pasaka tāda amatpersona, kas pārstāv vienu vai otru valsti. Un šajā gadījumā es gribu teikt, ka terorisms - tas ir vienkārši briesmīgi! Un tie cilvēki, neapšaubāmi, ir jāsoda, un ir jācīnās pret terorismu. Bet mēs nedrīkstam reliģiju, kura daudziem cilvēkiem - viņi nav teroristi! - ir ļoti tuva, tāpat kā katram no mums ir sava reliģija, kuru mēs atzīstam... Un ja kāds to sāk ekspluatēt ne tādā veidā, kā vajag... Es nerunāju par teroristiem, kuri darbojas šīs reliģijas aizsegā, bet uzsveru, ka daudzi cilvēki, kuri nav teroristi... Tas, ka mēs mēģinām arī viņus... palielināt to skaitu, kas ir naidīgi, teiksim, pret vienu vai pret otru, - tas ir, es domāju, noziedzīgi. Un paldies Dievam, ka beidzamajā laikā, kā es esmu lasījis starptautiskajā presē, arī šo pusi sāk iztirzāt arī lielās valstis - ka, pirms mēs pasakām kādu vārdu, jābūt ļoti uzmanīgiem, vai mēs neaizvainojam kādu, teiksim, citu cilvēku. Man liekas, gudrs cilvēks ir nevis tas, kurš izraisa konfliktu, bet gan tas, kurš spēj paredzēt konfliktu un novērst konfliktu. Nedaudz - vēl dažus vārdus - gribu teikt par ekspertiem... par ekspertiem un politologiem, un tā tālāk, un tā tālāk. Pirms desmit gadiem presē rakstīja par šo tēmu un uzdeva jautājumu politologiem: “Vai ir iespējams Eiropā konflikts tādā klasiskā izpausmē - ar pistolēm, šautenēm, automātiem un vēl kaut ko?” Teica: “Nē! Ziniet, varētu būt vienīgi, teiksim, atom... teiksim, tāda rakstura konflikts, bet nu tāds nevarētu notikt, teiksim, Eiropā.” Es gribu runāt par ekspertiem. Mums ir vajadzīgi eksperti, mums vajag prognozētājus. Ziniet, beidzamajā laikā ļoti populāri ir ekstrasensi. Varbūt mēs varētu piesaistīt kaut kādus tādus politologus, tas ir, ekstrasensus, kas spētu kaut kā prognozēt kaut ko uz priekšu... (Zālē smiekli.) Kuru vien televīzijas programmu ieslēdz - tur ekstrasenss! Viņš nosaka noziedzniekus, viņš nosaka, kas tur ir... Varbūt varētu šos ekstrasensus nu piesaistīt, un tad mēs jau drusku iepriekš zinātu, kā rīkoties. Par prezidentūru. Attiecībā uz to, ka prezidentūru mēs uztaisīsim brīnišķīgi - brauksim, cienāsim, televizori strādās, mikrofoni strādās -, es esmu pārliecināts: tas būs vienkārši ideāli. Par 99,9 procentiem - tas būs vienkārši ideāli! Man tikai gribētos, lai, teiksim, arī tā saturiskā daļa no tās prezidentūras... to, ko šeit jau teica... lai mēs pateiktu to, ka mēs esam varējuši kaut ko ielikt iekšā šajā prezidentūrā, lai Latvija... Nu, varbūt tas nav pats labākais piemērs, bet es to gribu ar ezīti salīdzināt: ne ezītis miglā, bet ezītis ar adatām, nevis ar noskūtām adatām. Lai Latvija prezidentūras laikā būtu arī ar adatām! Un nobeigumā es gribu teikt paldies ministra kungam. Jums joprojām es to saku, tāpat kā arī iepriekšējās reizēs, kad es esmu uzstājies.
