Ārpolitikas ziņojumā teikts un arī Nacionālā apvienība uzskata, ka šajā nemierīgajā un visai Eiropai nedrošajā laikā valsts galvenā prioritāte ir drošība. Ir jāstiprina Latvijas aizsardzības spējas, vairojot sabiedroto, NATO, militāro klātbūtni gan uz sauszemes, gan jūrā, gan arī pildot pašiem savu mājasdarbu – palielinot savu aizsardzības budžetu un arī atbilstoši to ieguldot. Ļoti nopietns izaicinājums ir un būs Eiropas migrācijas krīze, kuras risināšanā un piespiedu mehānisma ieviešanas novēršanā mūsu valsts vadītājiem un diplomātiem jau februārī būs jāiegulda nopietns darbs. Tāpat jāstiprina Latvijas enerģētiskā neatkarība un jāvairo valsts ārējās ekonomikas jauda, padarot un veidojot Latviju par investīcijām drošu un draudzīgu valsti. Turpinājumā – par Saeimas šodienas sēdes būtiskākajām aktualitātēm. Šodien skatīšanai komisijās nodots Latgales speciālās ekonomiskās zonas likuma projekts. Tas ir ļoti svarīgs likumprojekts, kura mērķis ir veicināt Latgales reģiona attīstību, piesaistot ieguldījumus ražošanas un infrastruktūras attīstībai un jaunu darba vietu radīšanai. Ņemot vērā Latgales reģiona problemātiku sociāli ekonomiskās attīstības ziņā, paplašinātā speciālā ekonomiskā zona reģionā būs atbilstošs risinājums ekonomiskās situācijas uzlabošanai. Likums nākotnē palīdzēs veidot daudz pārredzamāku politiku Latgales reģiona attīstībai. Tāpat šodien skatīšanai komisijā tika virzīti grozījumi Zinātniskās darbības likumā, kas vērsti uz institucionālās fragmentācijas, nozares smagnējuma un necaurskatāmības samazināšanu. Tie ir kompleksi grozījumi, kas ietverti plašākas zinātņu nozares reformas ietvaros, lai ilgtermiņā uzlabotu Latvijas zinātņu nozares kopējo kvalitāti. Šodien trešajā lasījumā apstiprināti grozījumi gan Sporta likumā, gan Krimināllikumā, kas attiecīgi definē un aizliedz manipulāciju ar sporta spēļu rezultātiem, proti, aizliedz tā saukto spēļu sarunāšanu, un paredz kriminālatbildību par šā aizlieguma neievērošanu. Šie grozījumi nepieciešami, pielāgojoties situācijai gan starptautiskajā, gan vietējā sporta dzīvē. Sportam komercializējoties, neizbēgami ir parādījušies procesi, kas vērsti uz sporta spēļu iznākuma ietekmēšanu. Šāda veida prakse grauj un degradē sporta kultūras pamatprincipus un arī mazina sabiedrības interesi par sportu kā tādu. Kā zināms, reti kurš vēlēsies skatīties spēli, kuras rezultāts jau iepriekš ir zināms. Nacionālā apvienība ir parakstījusi šodien apstiprināto Deklarāciju par nepilngadīgo Latvijas valstspiederīgo tiesību aizsardzību ārvalstīs, kurā ietverts aicinājums ārvalstu kompetentajām institūcijām respektēt Latvijas valsts pienākumu aizsargāt savu valstspiederīgo tiesības ārpus Latvijas robežām, kā arī konsekventi ievērot 1963.gada Vīnes konvencijā noteiktos pienākumus un sadarboties ar Latvijas diplomātiskajiem dienestiem un konsulārajām pārstāvniecībām, kas atbild par nepilngadīgo Latvijas valstspiederīgo tiesību aizsardzību, īpaši uzklausot to ieteikumus par bērnu turpmāko aprūpi Latvijas valsts kultūridentitātei atbilstošā ģimeniskā vidē. Ņemot vērā pēdējā gada laikā aktualizējušās problēmas ar nepilngadīgo Latvijas valstspiederīgo tiesību aizsardzību ārvalstīs, šī deklarācija ir nepieciešams atgādinājums gan mums, gan Ministru kabinetam nenogurstoši aizsargāt savu pilsoņu tiesības, lai kur tie atrastos.
