Es ļoti uzmanīgi klausos šīs debates, bet līdz galam tomēr nesaprotu, kāds tad ir bijis patiesais to iesniedzēju mērķis, kuri plānoja noteikt šīs komisijas darbam trīsdesmit mēnešus. Šeit viens no iesniedzēju pārstāvjiem norādīja uz to, ka komisijas uzdevums ir konstatēt trūkumus un tos novērst, un tam, protams, var piekrist, jo pirms kāda laika mēs strādājām ar grozījumiem Parlamentārās izmeklēšanas komisijas likumā, kur, cita starpā, noteicām, ka, beidzoties komisijas darbam, ir jāsagatavo ziņojums, kas jāiesniedz Saeimas Prezidijam, kā arī jāpublicē oficiālajā izdevumā “Latvijas Vēstnesis”. Savukārt tālāk šis ziņojums ir nosūtāms tām institūcijām, kuru kompetences jomā ir konstatēti attiecīgie iespējamie problēmjautājumi, lai izvērtētu šo problēmjautājumu novēršanu. Taču, ja mēs skatāmies kopsakarā ar kalendāro grafiku, kā jau minēja Āboltiņas kundze, trīsdesmit mēneši - tā faktiski ir nākamā Saeima. Tātad nākamā Saeima šo uzdevumu neveiks atbilstoši likumam. Faktiski sanāk tā, ka komisija strādā, ir kaut kāds ziņojuma projekts, varbūt ir konstatēti trūkumi, par to tiek daudz runāts, bet patiesībā šis mērķis - konstatēt trūkumus un novērst tos - netiek sasniegts. Līdz ar to, es domāju, šeit nevarētu būt problēmu arī ar Satversmes 26.pantu, jo mēs nevaram aiziet līdz absurdam un teikt, ka šādā veidā var sasniegt mērķi - tikai strādājot, bet nenovēršot trūkumus. Es domāju, ka šeit, iespējams, ir kādi politiski mērķi, taču šie mērķi neatbilst Parlamentārās izmeklēšanas komisiju likuma mērķim un arī Satversmes 26.pantam. Paldies.".
